Intern with Campus Publications

Sign up for COMM-1110, Apprenticeship in Communication Center Media: Publication Production to gain course credit and invaluable real-world working experience.

The course is offered each semester. You get to choose whether you would like to work with the Trinitonian or the Mirage. Many interns proceed to successfully apply for paid staff positions.

Staff members for the upcoming academic year are hired in late March and April.

Editorial and Managerial Positions

The students hired for the top six positions are responsible for the operation of Campus Publications as a business and a publishing house. The publications executives manage a wide spectrum of duties, including:

  • Content creation and editing
  • Business operations
  • Advertising
  • Budget maintenance
  • Hiring staff
  • Monthly meetings with the Board of Campus Publications

Hiring Information

The executives selected by the Board of Campus Publications hire the other staff members for the yearbook and the newspaper.

Recruiting and interviewing begins in mid-March for the next year. Watch the Trinitonian for announcements.

Serve on the Board of Campus Publications

Four students serve each year alongside faculty and an administrator as part of the eight-member Board of Campus Publications. The Board is sole publisher and supervisor of the Trinity University newspaper and yearbook, and thus oversees the entire Campus Publications program.

If you are interested in serving on the Board, you should:

  • Contact the president of the Student Government Association if you are a student
  • Contact the Faculty Senate if you are a faculty member
